Meet Zaina

Ever since she was a little girl, it has always been Zaina’s passion to use her creativity to enhance women and make them feel beautiful. Her first clients being made of plastic and not able to talk, gave her the experience and confidence to start her own braiding business at just 12 years old.  As her clientele grew and her craft became better, Zaina realized the potential in the dream.

In high school Zaina took four years of cosmetology electives and grew very close to her cosmetology instructor, Mrs. Fowler, who became like a second mother. Mrs. Fowler recognized Zaina’s passion and dedication and prior to high school graduation recommended her as an assistant to a full-service hair salon in Marietta, GA. It was there that Zaina fell in love with the art of hair color. After two years of shampooing, formulating and applying hair color, Zaina enrolled in school downtown where she took a job at Snob Life Studio in Atlanta. As an assistant, she learned the craft of hair extensions and hair straightening. Zaina assisted for another two years before she graduated from cosmetology school at the Atlanta Technical College.

Once she obtained her Master Cosmetology license in 2017, Zaina worked as a hair stylist at Get Glam’d Salon in Smyrna, GA. She received hands-on experience from owner Meghann Monroe, further cultivating her craft and strengthening her business.  During her time at Get Glam’d, Zana worked on one wedding set and three photoshoots.

Zaina continues to grow and educate herself regularly by taking classes and webinars. Most recently, Zaina took a class with Atlanta colorist Rachel Redd. Although Zaina considers herself a colorist, she performs extension and natural hair care services as well. But the best service Zaina provides is customer service; as she strongly believes that customer service takes you a lot further than talent. Zaina uses Pravana, Wella, Redken, Biosilk, Sebastian, and Design Essentials products. Whether Zaina is in the salon or on location, her goal is complete customer satisfaction.  Regardless of whether a guest is interested in a traditional sew-in or a soft highlight, Zaina’s attitude remains the same: “Hairstyling is more than just a technical skill. It involves effective communication with clients to achieve their best look.” It’s her philosophy to enhance a person’s individual beauty and make life a little less complicated. With a passion for hair and people, Zaina Cook is an on the rise Atlanta hair stylist with strong business fundamentals, integrity, value and a nonstop education.
